Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! This week has been filled with Halloween events and we thouught we'd share a few pics with you. Last Sunday we took the girls to get their pumpkins at the Farmer's Market...an enormous amount to choose from! The girls had fun picking out their pumpkins and even got one they could carry with them for the rest of the day. I finally found costumes for both of them that afternoon and we were able to get some pics of them after a little bribing with candy. Yesterday they had their party at Candace's to celebrate their last day and also Halloween. They were spoiled with McDonald's, candy, and cupcakes...what a great day! Last night Dan and Stacey came for dinner and helped us carve our first pumpkins. The girls did a good job gutting and the adults did a good job carving, they turned out really nice! We hope everyone has a safe Halloween and we look forward to being back in Indiana with you next week!!!

Toddlers in Tutus...

This morning the girls have been into their dress-up clothes and we caught them in supermodel poses...it was hilarious! The girls are taking more interest in music and dancing these days and have been showing us their moves. Their favorite song is the "Boom Boom Song", but they'll dance to anything. While they entertain us daily, we are also dealing with the frustration of toddlers, specifically that they don't listen to our redirection and they are ending up in time-out quite often. I guess were at the heart of the terrible 2s!

A Lazy Weekend

This week has been pretty uneventful for us, just alot of cleaning and getting items together for a garage sale... I can't believe we've been in our house for a year! I'm looking forward to my parents coming for a visit in a few weeks and going back to Myrtle Beach! Andy and I will have 2 days alone at the beach while my parents take the girls to see relatives in the Charleston area, it will be a nice break for everyone! The girls are continuing to grow and its hard to imagine them in the preemie clothes I pulled out for the garage sale :( They are enjoying their summer and have spent several days at the pool with Candace and the boys at daycare. They are so verbal these days and its hard not to laugh when they say things that should really get them in trouble. (Last week Abbie got in trouble for throwing rocks and Alaina pointed her finger at Abbie and said "Abigail Briana, you know better!") Hope all are well, the girls are waking from their nap. A New Pool

We returned home this week to find it very hot and the temps have been above 90 all week. Since our old pool had been covered with stain from the deck, we had to go find a new one yesterday. I decided that the girls needed something more entertaining than the old standard and found one with a sprayer and slide. They weren't crazy about the spraying Zebra, so we left that off but after awhile they started having fun with the slide. We also found some new sand and water toys and they had fun covering eachother and me with water. The toys also included a watering can and Abbie had fun helping me water the plants in our garden. The girls had a great time and I'm sure the pool will gets lots of use this summer!

Pickin' "Strawbabies"

Yesterday we took the girls to pick strawberries at a local farm and they had a ball! They both got to carry their own bucket and were excited to get out in the field and see the "strawbabies," as they like to call them. Both of them had fun eating while we picked, but Abbie definitely won the prize. Everytime I found a nice one I would tell her to put it in her basket. Instead, she would say, "that's a nice one" and put the whole thing in her mouth! At one point I turned around and all I could see was the burr coming out of her mouth. She must have eaten half a bucket while we were out there! When we were done both girls were covered with juice and their hands and face were bright red...what a mess! The farm also made homemade ice cream, so we treated them after we were done picking. They loved there Chocolate Covered Banana, and Andy and I enjoyed Strawberry Cheesecake and Banana Pudding ice cream...yummm! I'm sure we'll be heading back again. Here are some pictures of our day.

Easter on "Alligator Beach"

Since our schedules don't allow much time off for the Easter holiday, we've spent the past 2 years at the beach. This year I talked my parents and my brother George into flying down and spending the weekend with us on Myrtle Beach and I think we all enjoyed ourselves. When I started planning the trip, I told the girls we could go to Alligator Adventure, a place with lots of reptiles and other exotic animals. Well they remembered me saying this and they were ready to go to "Alligator Beach!" The whole trip there they talked about alligator beach and after 3+ hours we finally made it (they actually slept most of the way!) We stayed at a nice condo on the beach and were able to let the girls play in the sand, swim, and of course, see the alligators! Before we left the girls received packages from the Indiana Easter Bunnies, and they were really excited about having glasses to wear for their trip(thanks Great Gpa and Gma!) They also got new toys, clothes, music, candy, and a few dollars each...they must have been really good this year! Overall it was a wonderful time and I'm looking forward to spending more time at the beach...a weekend was not enough. We hope everyone had a great Easter and hope you enjoy these pics from our trip!

Busy,Busy,Busy...

Hello Everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but things have been hectic around here! Not only have Andy and I been busy but I think the girls run faster and longer everyday...I'm exhausted! Daylight Savings Time has been great for longer days but it also means that the girls get to bed later every night!
In March we were able to see our friends Joe and Emily and my friend Niki. It was great to see all of them and we welcome them back again soon!

This weekend we will be heading to the beach with my parents and George...we're all ready for a weekend away! Hopefully we'll have many more pictures to share when we return. Until then, here are a few pics of the girls playing outside this weekend...if they'd only stop to look at the camera:)

"Pretty Hair"

Last night the girls let me do something unbelieveable...put their hair up! They usually hate getting their hair combed so I was so excited to see them look like little girls. They ran around saying "piggy tails" and "pretty hair". Their hair is up again this morning, so maybe we've started a trend. Here are some pics to document the moment...

Our 2 year checkup

Today I took the girls for their 2 year old checkup and they did rather well! The doctor was impressed with them and said their speech and development was excellent for their age. They are continuing to grow well and are now at the 50th percentile for height and 25th for weight. They are 34 inches tall and 25 pounds and still top the charts with their big heads...thanks Daddy! They never cried when the nurse poked their figers to check their blood count and did well with their shot...the last one until Kindergarten! Now we don't have to see the doctor again until they're 3! Since they did so well, I got them their favorite lunch, a "cheesebuger" from McDonalds..yummmy!
We have already been told that the girls are very smart for their age and they impress me daily with the new things that they learn. They love to sing songs and say their ABCs and numbers. They only need a little assistance to dress themselves these days and love to do everything on their own. They also have very good memories...somedays better than mine!

We're 2 years old!!!

The girls turned 2 on Monday and we've been celebrating all week! Andy and I had to work on Monday but the girls had a great party at daycare and ate lots of good junk! Today we went to Monkey Joe's, a place with blow up houses that they could jump, slide and crawl in (I believe they were called "moonwalks" when I was little). They had a great time and especially loved going down the slides at high speed. I can't believe they're 2 already...how time flies!!! Thanks to everyone who sent gifts and well wishes to the girls, we appreciate everything!!! Hope you enjoy these pics!

Staying Busy...

Now that the holiday season is over, things have gotten back to normal around here. We welcomed Andy's first weekend off in 2 months last weekend and put him to work with some house projects. He painted the foyer and hallways and also designed our new master bath look. I decided on and painted the beadboard for the walls and he picked the wall color and did all the work...what a good husband! The girls have also stayed busy playing with all of their Christmas gifts and getting into normal toddler trouble! I can't believe they'll be 2 next week! We hope all is well with everyone!
